Recycle Pc is a Not-For-Profit Organization, we are in the process of trying to become 501c status so your donations will be tax exempt. We provide low cost or free computers to individuals, families, and gro ups who are needy and otherwise would not be able to obtain a computer. We also work closely with other non-profit groups in our local area and provide them support if they need it. Right now recycle pc is run out of my house and I am the only person that operates It. I came up with the idea for recycle pc though family and friends that I have helped though recycling computers and parts. I did some research and found out that really there was no one that was solely offering computers for people in need. So that's how we began! The feedback has been great and i enjoy doing what i do. Many people don't realize that their old computers are still good when they upgrade to new and better technology and rather than it get thrown out what better way can you do with it than donate it for someone who cannot afford or does not have access to a computer. Thanks to all who have donated so far and hopefully many more to come. Without your support this would not be possible. |

When you donate a computer it is important for it to fall into our guidelines for acceptance. It must be at least a INTEL Pentium 3 800-900mhz or an AMD equivalent if you are not sure most computers have a model number on them and you can always call and ask as we will be happy to assist you in determining the specifications. As far as accepting CRT monitors they are on an as needed basis until further notice. Please call before you want to donate them. This is due to space constraints and the amount of monitors that are received. We will gladly accept any flat panel LCD monitors even if they are in non-working condition but the screen must not be damaged. We also accept non working Laptops as we use them for parts but must fall into the above specifications. Thanks for your understanding and remember if you have any questions please call us. |

People have asked me about hard drives and their concern about private data on them. I can assure you that we format ALL drives to strict DOD 5220.22-M standards before we send out a computer to someone. If we cannot use a hard drive we will still destroy it and render it useless. So rest be assured that your private data is safe. Remember we rely on your support lets make this a better community together. |
